A Dream Begins in Vancouver
The World Cup is never just about a football rolling on the green pitch; for us, it is the ultimate expression of travel, discovery, and feeling "at home" even thousands of miles away. After a long 24-year longing, as our National Team stepped back onto the World Cup stage, our hearts beat across the Atlantic, in the breathtaking Canadian city of Vancouver.

From the Streets to the Stadium: Red and White Festival
Hours before the kickoff, the streets of Vancouver, the surroundings of the BC Place Stadium, and the hotel areas turned into a vibrant carnival. Thousands of travelers and football enthusiasts who took the road from all over the world—New York, Toronto, and of course, Turkey—painted the city red and white. The torches lit and the chants sung showed the people of Vancouver the endless energy of Turkish fans and the unifying power of travel culture. For us, this tournament was not just a sports event; it was a magnificent cultural bridge spanning continents.

Dominance on the Pitch, Misfortune on the Scoreboard
When it comes to those thrilling 90 minutes last night... Although the scoreboard showed a 2-0 victory for Australia, the real story on the pitch was entirely different. As leading global sports outlets (like The Guardian and TSN) admiringly reported, Turkey completely dominated the game. We achieved an overwhelming 72% to 28% possession and bombarded the Australian goal with a total of 30 shots! From Arda Güler’s magical passes to Abdülkerim’s close-range headers, Australia’s young goalkeeper Patrick Beach had the performance of his career, making 8 crucial saves. Even though luck wasn't on our side, our beautiful and courageous football boosted our hopes for the rest of this long tournament journey.

The Journey Continues: Next Stop, Santa Clara!
As passion-driven travelers, we know best that a journey is never about a single stop. The World Cup is a long adventure, and our story is just beginning. Now, we are carrying this incredible energy and turning our route to our next stop in Group D: the sunny city of Santa Clara, California. Our hearts will keep beating in America as we face Paraguay.

As the Cool Travel Istanbul family, we will continue to follow the path of travel, discovery, and our national pride. It's not over until we say it's over!
